Metrosulfa – Tornel – 100 ml is a veterinary injectable antibacterial medicine that combines sulfadoxine and trimethoprim for broad-spectrum activity against susceptible bacteria. The combination works by blocking two successive steps in bacterial folic acid production, helping control a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative infections. It is intended for veterinarian-directed treatment in livestock and other approved animal species.
Metrosulfa – Tornel – 100 ml
Metrosulfa is intended for the parenteral treatment of susceptible bacterial infections in horses, cattle, calves, pigs, sheep, goats, lambs, dogs, cats and birds. The combination of sulfadoxine and trimethoprim provides a synergistic antibacterial effect, helping broaden the spectrum of activity while offering good absorption, tissue distribution and prolonged action. It is active against susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms including Streptococcus spp., Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Shigella spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Staphylococcus spp., Haemophilus spp., Escherichia coli and Proteus spp. In cattle, it may be used for veterinarian-directed treatment of metritis, infections associated with retained placenta, postpartum septicemia, respiratory infections, diarrhea, foot infections, coccidiosis-associated complications, mastitis and peritonitis. In horses, indications include sinusitis, respiratory infections, strangles, genitourinary infections, diarrhea, navel infections, skin infections, otitis media, pharyngitis and other susceptible bacterial respiratory conditions. In pigs, it may be used in cases of bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, atrophic rhinitis, infectious enteritis and other susceptible bacterial infections. In sheep, it may be used for bronchopneumonia, infected wounds, diarrhea and salmonellosis.
